Our Visual Presentation

Two important circumstances represent the essential focus of our association, and are conveyed through this graphic.

The first is the marginalisation of the child from one of his two parents for diverse motives, irrespective of whether these are the ostensible grounds for or responsibility of any given person. Who loses more with this is always the child!

The second, shown by a different graphic of the words “Papai" and "Mamãe", is the lack of balance between the time children spend with their mother and father. According to statistics provided by the IBGE (Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics), in 2001, in more than 80% of parental separations custody of children below the age of eighteen is conferred to the mother. Thus it is the father who, in the majority of cases, suffers privations and constraints in his relationship with his children. Even so, and even though the reality is reflective of this difference, the child does not have the same emotional reactions to the situation and, from this point on, has a right to the constant presence of his two parents, as conscious participants in his life.

When parents encounter parental alienation, there is first of all the shock, surprise and incredulity, and then a refusal to accept the inacceptable.

This refusal is the reason for our existence and for our actions.

We owe our existence as an organisation, first of all and before everything else, to our children, who are not responsible for these torments and who, under no circumstances, should suffer from them.

We also owe our existence to certain of the more perceptive amongst us who have "taken the bull by the horns". There are just a few throughout the world who have reacted positively and constructively.

There is one who, on his own initiative, has allowed us to understand and to react to these phenomena: we mention François Podevyn - the first parent to have brought together and summarised, in one document, available on our site, all the knowledge currently available on the subject. Thank you François!

There are also many others, from all corners of the earth : doctors, jurists, psychologists, lawyers, researchers, judges, mediators, scientists, prosecuting magistrates, social workers, ministers, etc. : to all these, without any hesitation : thank you! Thank you for having shown us the way and for having given us the resolve, with all the humility and unshakeable determination necessary, to open this debate and advance serious solutions in Brazil.

And finally there are all those who have, are and will be contributing to the development of this course of action and to the steady expansion of our children's frontiers. To each one, individually and collectively, we say : thank you! Thanks for supporting us, for participating and breathing life into this project!

Your suffering has allowed us to raise to the highest level our sense of responsibility. Our actions are dedicated to you. We hope to be worthy of you and to act in such a way that never again will you be torn between your two parents when they separate.
